Report written by Jo Kitching
A chilly Saturday afternoon saw 6 of us head back to Naomi House where we are continuing to help sort out clothing for their successful £1 sale. We headed out of the cold to the upstairs area (which wasn't much warmer) and began our well-practised task of emptying out the donation cupboard and sorting the items onto hangers and sizes. As with the usual sorting we found an array of clothing in a range of sizes, some rather larger than others so much so we ran out of the hangers to put them on. Sam found some great items, a faux fur hat with inbuilt hand warmers only to find it was actually a child size, she also found a perfect leopard print item (sorry I don’t know the word for it) but it didn’t meet requirements. Maxine, Rachel and Vicki found a colourful knitted item but were unsure of its purpose before being sized and placed on a hanger anyway.
We managed to fill the entire rail on the left hand side ready for them to be put out onto the shop floor for the sale. Keep an eye out of our page for when we’ll next be heading back to Naomi House.
Mushroom pun?
To explain on the pun. Jo had brought some retro sweets (coconut mushrooms) for Vicki after talking about them prior to Christmas. They were the only 2 people who were aware of them so we introduced the others to the delights of this confection.
