New reality: three stores, one weekly food shop

1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Southwark.

A great way to start your weekend is with a gentle 8k run to your GoodGym Mission after a hectic week at work (from home).

It was a good to stretch out those legs with a run that lasted more than 30 minutes and it really showed how unfit I'm getting just self isolating at home. Yet, I managed to get to the destination about 7 minutes late and tried to enter the apartment complex, but failed. So, I contacted Ms. H by telephone to confirm her shopping list that was written out on the GoodGym email. She confirmed everything and added an extra item to the list - Soya milk. Before ending the call, Ms. H advised me to go to the local Iceland and if I couldn't find anything there to try the Co-op opposite.

As I arrived to Iceland, the security guards told me the shop closed at 18:00...just 15 minutes late! Never mind, Co-op, it was. I waited in a fairly short queue of 5 people, but unfortunately the person behind me had no social distancing knowledge and was less than 30 centimetres away and the guards didn't control the spacing between us. I eventually got away after I was let into Co-op to find pretty much nothing in the store. I managed to get cheese, soya milk, seeded bread, cream crackers and porridge oats. The rest of the list I had to find elsewhere. Thus, I proceeded to check next door - the shop with no queue: PoundLand... Almost came up short, but they had three tins of sardines. All that was left was fruit teacakes, tinned soup, tinned carrots and the all important, TV Times (vital for when you are stuck at home). These items I managed to find quickly in a fully stocked Sainsbury's nearby, but had to wait about 20 minutes to get in.

I was happy that I managed to get everything on the list for £15 and left all the items with the concierge (as this time I managed to get into the apartment complex). I called Ms. H to let her know where she could collect her items and told her to remain safe. We said our goodbyes over the phone and off I went on another long run home.
