Luck was definitely on my side tonight as I met up with Pieter for an after work mission (it turns out he has mad practical skillz and a recent history of faulty electrics 👍😄).

That's relevant for the next part of this report, in which I tell you that our job for the evening was to replace a few light bulbs for Ms A: all of the lights in Ms A's kitchen had blown, in addition to a light at the top of her stairs, and she was finding it difficult to safely navigate in her home.

Ms A had put some bulbs and a step stool out for us to use. It was a matter of minutes to change the ones in the kitchen (although note that the one I replaced had to be replaced again by Pieter after it blew again within mere seconds 😐). Pieter also used science to flip a fuse after finding that a newly fitted upstairs light bulb still wasn't working. Mad practical skillz indeed. That caused the last light to work, and we officially had lux ladies and gentlemen (and what a luxe lux it was).

As we'd finished the main job pretty quickly, we asked if there was anything else we could do. Ms A asked us if we could look at her phone. Pieter promptly turned it on. "Oh! You've fixed it!" exclaimed Ms A. Yes. Yes we had. Science to the rescue again! 😎

Making our goodbyes, we quickly took a Halloween-themed selfie (I was a post-work zombie), and Pieter kindly took one of my generic biscuits before heading off to the Greenwich group run to do another good deed! Woot! Go Pieter! 😄🎉

YES YES YES! Great work guys. Fiat Lux as they would say at my old secondary school. Small task but massive difference made.

Cheers Alex :D I have to admit, I'm not exactly on terra firma with Latin (I mostly know "lux" as being a unit for measuring illuminance). I'm glad to expand my knowledge! :)
