A second visit to Mrs L and a now familiar trip to Asda.

A new list of items to find and a few questions to clarify, and the shopping was done...except that Asda didn't have a single bag of Bassett's Liquorice Allsorts!

A short bike ride to Farmfoods, and a family bag of Allsorts later, and I was back on track.

I had discovered a new route, and was thankful for the cycle rail alongside the steps, as I pushed my bike uphill.

Dropping off the bags, I was able to have a slightly longer chat with Mrs L this time.

She was extremely grateful to have had her shopping delivered, but, as her son is almost at the end of his self isolation period, he will be able to pick up any shopping in future.

We chatted about vaccinations. Mrs L has had her shot and, fortunately, suffered no side effects. We chatted about work. It turns out that Mrs L was a dinner lady at a local high school, where my children attended.

Mrs L wanted to give me some money as a thank you, as she said she may not see me again. I thanked her, but refused, explaining that it was not necessary...(or allowed 😁) and that I had enough reward, being motivated to get up, get on my bike and get out in the fresh air.

It is such a privilege to be able to meet nd help the many lovely, humble and kind hearted people that we do.
