Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Sevan
Michelle and Sevan arrived at Mrs L's house not knowing what to expect. Furniture move missions could be super simple or as complex as a giant game of Jenga. Mrs L's daughter met them and apparently she didn't know what to expect from the GoodGymers either.
"I was expecting 2 burly men"
"How are you going to move those? You're skinny and she's tiny" - Mrs L's Daughter
"We'll manage just fine" - Sevan
"Those" were a single bed and a double door woodchip wardrobe. They needed to swap places so that a hospital provided chair could fit next to the bed.
Sevan and the daughter emptied the wardrobe to make it easier to move and found out that it was on castors. An unexpected win! Meanwhile, Michelle moved the foot of the bed, the first stage of spinning it around, and found that underneath, it was stuffed with clothes, bags and newspapers. Did they need to move those too? It would take ages and who knew what else might be hiding down there 😬.
Mrs L's daughter made it much simpler for them. Mrs L slept on a support pillow, so it was neither heads nor tails which end was next to the wall. Sliding the bed across rather than spinning it to get the bed head against the wall meant that everything below it stayed undisturbed.
Sevan pulled the bed and Michelle wheeled the wardrobe into place and they were back outside in 11 minutes!
As a side task "tiny" Michelle also moved a broken 50" TV outside to be collected.
Who needs burly men? 💪
