So last night was a little different, our good deed of the evening was team spirit and cheering on runners on the last stretch to the finish line! We seemed to make runners smile and sprint to the finish line... "Good Job!"

We met at Shalford in Guildford, AAT events holds a mid week race event every year. This year was a sell out, with a 5km, 10km or 15km option. The run is beautiful and goes up to St Martha's and around the Newlands corner. It is a hilly trail event and tests out your lungs and legs! With sand at the start to help warm your legs up which then goes straight into the hill to st marthas!

I entered the 5km along with James... I remember from last year and knew what was ahead and didn't want to suffer up the hill so we set off together and comfortable pace. I could see Adam and Leo running off into the sunset, I was happy to let them go. It was at the top of St Martha's where there was the point to split off with 5km heading back down the hill and the 10km and 15km heading on for some more hills. It was here where Rebecca made the decision to join in with the 5km race - I don't blame you! It was a very hot race so the woodland section of running in the Chantry Woods at the end was my favourite and obviously most of it was downhill! With Adam being the only one who had a tumble - all fine in the end, just a few scratches!

It was great at the end of the race to be able to cheer everyone coming in. Once more members finished their race and joined in on the cheering we then had a cheer area for all the runners coming down the last stretch of the finish line. It was great to see the runner's faces light up and dig deep for a sprint finish.

To finish a lovely evening of hills and sunshine we headed for well deserved drink to celebrate!

A big well done to everyone

Next week We head to Church for some gardening - remember to get signed up!
