Grassias for the biscuits amid a cherry enjoyable dig!

2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Bristol.

Paul and I arrived at a sweet little garden shared by a community of older people who had been struggling to keep up with the rate at which the grass was growing and suffocating their flower beds.

With the skies threatening both sunshine and rain, we got digging under the shelter of their beautifully blooming cherry tree.

In a little over an hour, we were able clear the majority of the thick set grass clumps, shaking out the rich soil (and returning the earthworms to their patch!) ready for some show quality dahlias donated by The Dahlia Society.

Meanwhile Mrs M and a couple of other residents provided tea, biscuits, great chat and excellent supervision, as well as getting stuck into trimming some pesky brambles entwined in the flowering bushes.

Thank you for inviting us Mrs M! All the best with the planting.
