It was late afternoon when I met up with Dharmesh for our final mission today, having both done separate missions with Annie earlier in the day.

This time we were in Hackney, and were scheduled to help Mrs W make her garden safer: she's found it difficult to keep up with the gardening as she's become less mobile. This had led to lots of moss and weeds spawning over her patio, making it more difficult for her to navigate.

After welcoming us into her home, Mrs W took us through to the back garden to start work!

Originally, I started off by flexing my secateurs at some of the brambles while Dharmesh very literally got to grips with the weeds. However, he very quickly (& sneakily) purloined them while I was chatting with Mrs W, which didn't seem very GoodGym of him. Consequently, please see the above picture of him eating a cake post-mission 😜

Thankfully for Dharmesh's dignity, he proffered my secateurs back so that he could instead scrape the moss off the patio with the hoe (not my favourite task, so I'm very glad he was willing to do it!). This allowed me to sit back and weed at my own beat, chatting with both Dharmesh and Mrs W on a variety of topics (including Dharmesh's current bromance with someone who I'm not allowed to name πŸ˜‡). We also had fun finding various random bits in the garden that Mrs W's neighbours had thrown into the garden, including some ketchup (these pocket condiments making the mission saucier) and some lead! Cool beans πŸ˜„

After 90 minutes or so, we'd made decent inroads into the job, although there's still some weeding in the borders and near the roses towards the left hand side of the garden that we didn't really have time for. Hopefully a repeat mission to address this can be sorted. Mrs W was amazed at how much was cleared in the time, and sent us away with some cherries 😊

It was fun working with you Dharmesh! See you at Redbridge's group run on Monday! πŸ˜„

Addendum: Dharmesh indicated that this report should be edited to include that I broke a broom handle, so here goes: The broom handle broke itself. While I was holding it. There. πŸ˜‡
