GoodGym and parkrun - a winning combo
8 GoodGymers made their way 5.0km in a race in Croydon.
- Saturday, 24th of September 2016
Nice weather combined with a good GoodGym turnout led to an enjoyable parkrun in Croydon at Lloyd Park today. Many of the Croydon regulars showed up, as did John from the Camden group.
Between us, we had various levels of familiarity with the Lloyd Park route; some do the parkrun there routinely, some used to do it and still shudder when thinking about the always-slightly-steeper-than-you-think hill halfway through, and others still take part in other local parkruns. Looking at the times, it looks like we all did well, and even managed a few PBs.
The timing and the course are arranged brilliantly by the Lloyd Park volunteers (who also facilitated a much appreciated water stand next to the finish line); if anyone’s keen on helping them out sometime, there’s more information on doing so at by clicking on this link
We showed off big grins and our GoodGym shirts, and found it odd not having a nice bit of community service to break up the run! We’ll need that energy for our fungus task on Tuesday evening, though, details are here.
