Tonight was the first time back at Cultivate London, an urban farm and social enterprise in West London, since the pandemic began. One of the main things Cultivate do is transform areas of London with planters and flower boxes made from reusable materials - mostly planks of wood.

It was good to see the site is still ticking over nicely and there are plenty of jobs Cultivate were happy to have our help with. Cultivate's main objectives are in helping young unemployed people to develop skills and improve their health through horticulture and landscaping. Improving the physical environment and social cohesion in the local community in the process.

Alan and Michelle from Goodgym Hounslow were joined by JP from Goodgym Richmond at the South Acton site. A small but mighty group of Goodgymers keen to help out and put our mid week run to good use.

We met the site manager Auberon and had a short lesson in plant vs weeds before we set to work on the plants that had been taken over by numerous weeds and snails. We weeded, tidied and had a good catch up on all things covid and after a little over an hour we'd filled 3 bags with the unwanted weeds.

Cultivate also have a site in Isleworth where we'll be arranging a Community Mission soon, at the Salopian Garden so look out for that and some more tasks at Berrymede Infant School just round the corner from Cultivate.
