Parcel tape and a bag of groceries delivered to Mrs D, who has been stuck inside since the start of lockdown. This was my fourth trip for her, so we’re old hands at this now. And I finally got to find out where she hails from - I’d been charmed by her lovely northern accent on the phone but was struggling to place it. Turns out I was on the wrong side of the Pennines (depending which side you come from!) - and we shared some nostalgia for our northern home towns. Run home through the pleasantly empty streets of central London featured a rainbow of flowers and a statue of Gandhi.
