Den dismantling
7 GoodGymers made their way to help their local community in Barnet.

Three runners met at the Phoenix Cinema and ran to Coldfall Woods, where we were joined by several others. The task owner, Linda, explained that our job was to dismantle some dens and use the logs and branches from them to restore the edging around the paths. Not only would this stop people from creating new paths through vulnerable bits of woodland that need protecting, it also provides a habitat for insects - which in turn will attract more birds and other wildlife to the wood.
We worked quickly in the fading light and managed several dens.
Huge apologies again to those we didn't manage to find in the woods. I'm sorry for your wasted evening - and also sorry for us that we missed out on your company and help with the task.
