This afternoon I met up with Mridula and Beth for a mission in Islington for Mrs M.

Mrs M has lived in her house for over 45 years, happily keeping the front garden well tended. However, it's gotten a little overgrown recently she's been unable to keep up with its rapid rate of growth. She asked GoodGym if we could help out with this.

Despite Mridula's professed hatred of gardening missions, she was keen to get started on her first of four good deeds today: She has a special outfit planned for when she hits 200 good deeds in a couple of weeks and is looking forward to showing it off. After hearing about it, I'm looking forward to seeing the pictures!

With a force like Mridula's motivation spurring us on, we gamely started chopping the excess greenery, with Mridula and I concentrating on the greenery growing over the fence into the street and Beth forging a trail through part of the garden inside the fence. I think we all like the feeling of wanton destruction on tasks like this as the end result can be very satisfying! 😄

Following on from Mridula's outfit confession, conversation generally flowed as we worked. We caught up on various holidays and house moves since our last meetup, reminisced over previous missions, and heard about the fun of shindig and my love of random TFL things. All great stuff.

After an hour or so we finished up what we could and made our goodbyes: there's still a decent amount of work to be done, but we hope that we'll be able to return and help to finish the job.

Lovely seeing you guys again! Mridula, I honestly tried to write the words "I didn't do a thing on this mission" as a confession, but I find it as difficult to write absolute untruths as to speak them (which is virtually impossible). This is a very inconvenient character trait that I'll try and work on for our next encounter! 😄
