Mr M is being discharged from hospital tomorrow morning and there was an urgent need to prepare a suitable space to welcome him back at his place in Hackney 🏠 - firstly, to allow his return home from the hospital, also to reduce the risk of falls. This chilly ❄ evening - Shawn, Pulin, Lucia and Gosia appeared at Mr M's place to make this all happen.

We have been waiting a while for Mr M's daughter to arrive before getting into the house and plan the actions. There was a lot of stuff lying around the living room so we quickly realised it won't be an easy task to do, especially if there didn't seem to be really much room left to move these things to. Mr M's daugther suggested that - instead - can try to organise them better and this was what we were focusing throughout the rest of the mission.

There was a lot things to sort out but there were also four of us - plus Mr M's daugther - so some real potential to make this all work. First, we temporarily moved things from the sofas (i.e. bags, clothes, boxes, some rubbish) to the corridor. Then, one by one Mr M's daughter was investigating them and making a decision where they should go. We swiftly split the responsibilities amongst us - Shawn taking care or shoes and bags, Gosia making sure the bedding and clothes are in a one place and Shawn, being the one closest to Mr M's daughter, was assisting in transporting the bags and a general maintenance 👨🏻‍🔧 .

Lucia was helping with clearing the space too, but also was granted a special mission to walk the dog - Mr T 🐕. When we arrived at the place he was extremely enthusiastic about literally everything, almost out-of-control 😄 and - apparently - the only thing that could calm him down was to run around and get some fresh air (every runner understands it though). In fact, from the moment when they both came back from the walk, he started to be quiet like a mouse 🐁.

After reviewing most of the belongings, we used the available room and furniture in the best way we could to put things away  i.e under the bed, on shelves or a bigger pile in the corner. This way, we managed to make more space, most importantly cleared the way from the bed to the toilet because this was one of our top priorities for this evening.

Mr M's daughter repetitively said we all did a great job. Before heading off, we have double checked with her if there is anything else we can do. She confirmed that the job is done. We are wishing Mr M a nice journey from the hospital tomorrow and hoping he will like his refurbed room 👍😊.
