Ceiling the mission!

1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Kingston upon Thames.

Rob and I ran 6km together to Ms A’s garden to help to prepare her greenhouse for the frosty months ahead. The plan was to seal the greenhouse from the ceiling to the floor with the insulating plastic lining that had been delivered. At our first attempt we recognised that we needed to cut it down to size and so we re-measured to be safe. Initially being ‘taken down the garden path’, after a quick relocation over to the grass to get it right, we’d got the measure of it! We then had to fold the lining in layers to fit it in the greenhouse and had to pass it through to each other under a wire that ran along a peak in the ceiling. Next we had to make sure the pieces were sealed well with pegs to keep them together. And then repeat the process again along the back of the greenhouse. Ms A was very pleased to have her greenhouse set for the winter months ahead so that she can continue to work with her plants in better conditions inside. She proudly explained that our insulating work will raise the temperatures by up to 10 degrees inside! She was very grateful to us for ‘stepping’ in to help!
