We were welcomed by not one, not two but three cats before entering Mr.R's house. We only needed to move out two pieces of furniture a two-seater sofa and a medium-sized cabinet. We moved the cabinet out in the first 5 minutes. There was a partially blind cat that just stood in the hallway and refused to move. We had to maneuver around it when we took out the first piece of furniture. He keeps on coming back to the main door even if we took it outside the house.

Can you push it?

Sofa so good. What happened the next 90 minutes was a slow, painful, and gruesome experience. Kash and I thought the two-seater might fit through the main door and tried to squeeze it in. But it got stuck in the hallway between the bathroom door, which is right next to the main door, and the main door. We tried pushing up, left, right, and down. It didn't move. The bottom part of the sofa started damaging the wall and the door. Kash suggested let's get the sofa back in so that we don't damage it further. It never moved an inch. We couldn't get it out or get it in. After a few minutes, we thought of taking out the bottom part by unscrewing them.

Time to Dismantle

Luckily Mr.R's family had the right size spanner which fitted the bolt and nuts. Kash started taking apart the bolts one by one. It was not an easy one, as some side of the sofa is not accessible due to the way it got stuck between the doors. No one could go in or out. I was simply standing outside the door holding the sofa, which doesn't need holding. So I started clearing the path from the main door to the main gate. The main gate had multiple attachments which we thought might not withstand our sofa-pulling techniques. So I took apart all the attachments from the main gate by the time Kash unscrewed all the bolts from the sofa.

Take two

After removing a few frames, we thought it would fit through the door. But it didn't. It needed blood sacrifice. Kash spilled a few and we realized, the seats could be split. After a few more unscrewing, the sofa was split into two. It needed more maneuvering and we managed to get one seat out. We tried to use the same position and technique to get the other seat. But we ended up using a different technique and finally got out the last piece.

Put it back

We pushed the three-seater sofa to the place where the two-seater was removed from. Mr.R's family asked us how much we charge. Kash then explained that we don't accept cash and politely denied the offer of wine. We got some bottled water and we still had one more task to do before leaving. Need to put back the main gate how it used to be. I forgot to take the picture before dismantling them. Luckily, we managed to put back all the pieces of stuff and got the main gate back to how it was. We were glad that the sofa was on the ground floor.
