By hook or by crook

Mr E lives by himself in a flat in Camden. As a young man, he used to be a swimmer, but these days, he needs help in getting some small things done around the flat. In this case, he needed some help hanging up a curtain on his rather high ceilings.

After a nice, slightly cold jog on Saturday morning, I met Kike in front of Mr E's flat. Mr E had the ladder ready and showed us the curtain. Unfortunately, there was a slight snag in the plan as I discovered that we were missing curtain hooks. Undeterred, we went to the high street hardware store and struck a deal with the local curtain hook supplier. With curtain hooks in hand, the rest of the operation went off without a hitch.

As we had to run off to do more exercise, we regretfully declined the very nice offers of a cup of juice. It was obvious that Mr E was very grateful and we were happy to be able to help with a simple task that was difficult for him.
