Here's what Mr R of TW2 had to say about the mission:

Mr R was really happy with the help he got from the runners and said they did a very good job!

Mr R of TW2, mission beneficiary

Katie and Gosia met up in Twickenham today to help out Mr R in tidying up his garden. It was a rather chilly Saturday morning, then it turned into a very sunny and warm day – last shimmer of summer 🌻😊. We can’t complain, it was a perfect weather do some gardening 🌱!

We arrived on time and were welcomed warmly at the door by Mr R and his wife. The work started with moving a microwave from the kitchen to an outdoor storeroom. When Mr R was on his way to bring a cart to use for transporting the appliance, Katie - much to our surprise, without a single sign of effort on her face - grabbed the whole package using her arms strength only. There was just a quick break on the garden bench to correct the position of the microwave in the box as didn’t want to fully close. Job done! πŸ‘Œ

Then, we proceeded to the main task – moving the lawn. We were impressed with the awesome set of tools Mr R had in his storeroom – a decent lawn mower, trimmer and even a garden blower πŸƒ to blow away or kind of tiny green pieces we were about to cut. One of the best equipped missions ever! Katie started with a trimmer to cut down the wildest pieces of the weeds and grass. Gosia followed her with the lawn mower having surprisingly much fun while doing it 🀭. Sounds straight forward, but it took quite a lot of time and effort to get the whole grass done. It took most of out time.

After that, we did few extra tasks – Katie grabbed rake and got rid of leaves and different kinds of undesireable plants from flower beds. In the meantime, Gosia was sorting out the garden path, removing moss and weeds sticking out from between the pavement tiles. Bugs and spiders πŸœπŸ•· were not particularly happy about it but she continued anyway.

Our cherry on the cake for this mission was to use the garden blower. Initially, we intended to split the task, but Gosia seeing Katie being so passionate about it did not want to interfere 🀭🀭😊.

Mr R spent with us most of the time – chatting, advising, offering different sorts of garden tools, bin bags and drinks. Katie is still recovering from a cold and had a running nose, so he brought tissues for her and even 1 package extra for Gosia (for future use). He seemed to be very happy with the outcome of the mission and asked if we have more time to do the front garden. We informed that although we need to go now, he can let GG know that more work needs to be done so another mission can be arranged. Good morning!
