On a sunny Saturday, seven dedicated GoodGymers gathered at Thorlands Gardens in Camberwell to contribute their time and effort to enhance the community's green spaces. They welcomed Emma who came for her first session and claiming her first good deed! Well done Emma!
The main focus of the session involved tackling the persistent issue of invasive bindweed in the Kitchen Garden. Emma, Johnny (who came over from Tower Hamlets), Jo and Sam worked diligently to dig up the invasive bindweed to ensure they could stay on top and maintain a healthy and flourishing Kitchen garden meant for the growth of herbs.
In addition to the removal of bindweeed, Alex, Lindy and Maria took on the task of transporting woodchip mulch and logs to the Forest Garden. This proactive preparation was made in anticipation of Wednesday night's group run. In total, they managed to complete 10 trips, equivalent to 20 wheelbarrow loads of woodchip mulch and logs.
Their collective efforts within the hour and a half between the seven GoodGymers showcased a strong commitment to fostering a beautiful and sustainable environment within Thorlands Gardens. Well done team!
