The wind was blowing, the cold was nipping, the tube was broken and illness had claimed some of our GG Hounslow family, but still six fine athletes still came along last night to make a difference in Chiswick.

Lots of news to start!

*January challenge! We're doing well on mileage, still a few more good deeds needed, despite some lovely extra missioning from the gang this weekend. Tell you what, how do you fancy a starter session/mission this weekend at... * Thornbury Park orchard planting! We're welcoming new members, planting a load of trees and doing a fitness session this Saturday at 11am. See you there! * Massive well done to the lovely Natasha who is topping the leader boards, and also to Adam and Andy for some amazing good deeding.

As we headed outside to get our blood pumping and hearts racing, we also picked our random acts of kindness for the week. The idea is we combat a tough week in January with some nice things for other people, such as giving compliments to strangers, helping somebody on the tube, or telling someone you're proud of them.

Our job tonight was on the green opposite the town hall where we meet so we went on a little jog first picking up our mates as we went (hi Michelle!), ending up back at our starting point ready to pick up some litter. Two teams, two bags, and a whole load of trash later, the park was looking lovely and our fingers were getting chilly.

It could only be time for our fitness session. This week we took on the pyramid challenge - a set of exercises starting from one rep right up to ten reps and back down again. Michelle demonstrated a fantastic new high knee move, which is going to be a Hounslow staple from now on, and we all perfected our frog jumps. We then moved on to another set of different drills, which were separated by sprints, before finishing off with a set of one legged squats. Great work, team.

Hope to see as many of you as possible on Saturday , until then, run happy!
