Thanks to Samia’s pun support, musical expertise and enthusiasm, we were ready to return for The Grand Finale of Goodgym Kingston’s Super Saturday of community missions. To end my treble (clef) of missions, I was glad to keep it cymbal for this one. It didn’t take much to drum up the energy to stack chairs at the end of the performance once we’d heard the final notes sung to the Hallelujah Chorus. Armed with the map that we’d been given by the congregation members there to supervise, Rob directed us by keeping track of the number of chairs that were supposed to be left in each row. We knew we could count on him to keep us in line. It was a well conducted task with a cacophony of chairs clattering at a great tempo! When all chairs were counted we asked, ‘waltz next?’ and were surprised to be told that it was all done. With no requests for an encore of chair stacking we said farewell and heard a final refrain of ‘Chairs to Goodgym’ from members of the Kingston Choral Society. They said we’d given them stacks of help and they’d love to have us bach again for their next concert in June!
