We arrived at Mrs J to find that our first task was to borrow a couple of tools from a house across the road. Suitably armed with two trowels and a long handled fork we got cracking on the two flower beds.

We were fortunate to have Deb with us today - not just because she is lovely and always good for a nice chat but also because she has a pretty good grasp of the whole weed/flower distinction thing. In fact it turned out that there were quite a few more of the former than the latter - mostly buttercups and dandelions.

This reminded Sarah of an experiment she had carried out once. Apparently a dandelion she had dug up and hung out in the garage was still able to produce more dandelions when it was planted a year later!

Mrs J was totally brilliant and brought us out tea and mini rolls, giving us just enough energy to finish off the weeding.

Thanks for being ace mission companions today Sarah and Debs - and congratulations on your 50th good deed today Sarah!
