Fiona took on her first Community Mission at the Ladywood food hub and was the only one for a while bagging up. She might have been working alone but at least it was easier than a trip to Tesco can be right now.

As more volunteers came on shift, she met Ryan and they chatted as they “shopped” for the items to go into the food parcels. Thankfully, Fiona got through her fear of misunderstanding the Welsh accent to get a great welcome from a fellow volunteer.

Along the way, she also met Mel who was keeping the shelves stocked. Seeing Fiona’s red T-shirt, she recalled how she had tried Goodgym a few years ago, as she like the idea of the coach runs. But as we know, we unfortunately have no coaches available in Birmingham yet. Hopefully this will all become part of the new normal we’re all anticipating for our futures.

An enjoyable experience, as you can see from the photos. Also one which is incredibly vital and rewarding. Look out for all the upcoming community missions here for TAWS: https://www.goodgym.org/organisation_opportunities/o4qRm9QJ
