A Mission with a Difference

2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in York.

I met Ed at Mrs P's on this lovely sunny Monday afternoon, feeling grateful to be able to still do some GG good on a Monday. Mrs P (who is self-isolating) managed to give us our instructions from her back door whilst we stayed a safe distance at the other end of the garden (luckily it's not a long garden)! I removed a broken pot from the raised bed and redistributed the soil, leaving the broken bits of pot on the patio for Mrs P to smash up at a later date (I think she was looking forward to doing that). Ed's task (safely distanced from me) was to try and dig up the remains of a shrub that Mrs P wanted rid of, which had some gnarly roots. However, Ed was up to the challenge and after a lot of wiggling he managed to get it out and remove the offending roots. I did a bit of weeding and edge trimming and we were soon waving goodbye to Mrs P through her patio doors.
