A Little Light Cleaning

1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Islington.

Mr D's rheumatoid arthritis limits what he can do for himself around the house. To brighten up the flat, Goodgym were asked to take down 3 net curtains to be washed, and to clean the inside of the windows.

Mr D had the step ladder, cloths and cleaning spray ready, and in no time the 3 curtains were in the washing machine with an extra dash of detergent, which Mr D felt should be added for good measure.

While the machine did it's thing, Anne used old fashioned elbow grease (and some modern cleaning spray) to let the light back through the windows.

As the washing machine finished it's task, Mr D and Anne had a cuppa and a chat about his late wife, his trip to Paris as a 17 yr old lad and the merits of jellied eels.

With the curtains clean and rehung, the windows looked much fresher and allowed the lovely spring sunshine into the room.

No photo was taken of the final result (oops!) But Mr D was very happy with the job done.
