After parkrun, we gathered our strength and resources with drinks and delicious food from our favourite cafe. Once we were all fed and watered, we grabbed the bin bags and pickers from the old cottage cafe who store them for us, and split up across the park to hit the key areas.

We set 30 minutes as generally we hadn't noted much rubbish around, however I had seen a huge amount of discarded water bottles on my jog over to parkrun that morning. In total I probably didn't quite get 99, but I had filled my rubbish bag more than any other litter pick. It was astounding but not unheard of, the friends of charlton park are very aware that the various football groups do leave rubbish behind. Great work swiftly done by all who joined and we've left the park in a great condition for everyone who will enjoy it over the sunny weekend.
