Amidst the world cup that has taken over the earth for the last month or so 28 good souls have still managed to find time to give back, to do good.

Last night was the opening night of GoodGym Westminster or should I refer to it by its newly christened name of BESTMinster ?

Our task? Simple, meet at our new home The Westminster Impact Hub navigate our way for 1km through rush hours finest human traffic in central London. Arrive safely at 3space and restore the once pretty white walls to their former glory.

On arrival the lovely Alice from 3space whisked us upstairs, a quick briefing and we were at it in no time. We split the group into two teams, one painting and the other performing exercises that we should do as runners but often forget. The smiles alone let me know that they will be eternally grateful for the fun I forced them to endure.

It’s my belief that amongst the 28 there were some secret artists, as on completion of half the room it looked divine from floorboard to ceiling. Some worked the walls with the rollers and the others worked the hard to reach areas. THIS is teamwork.

Alice was truly overjoyed at how quickly and cleanly we worked. We said our goodbyes and promised to return the following week to complete the job.

Now for the return run, we split into 2 groups both heading back through the side streets of Soho, Regents Street, Oxford Street, Hyde Park, Green Park and finally after a lung busting, pram dodging, pollen inhaling, interval based adventure we arrived safely back at base.

A truly enjoyable madden run, thank you to all of you who made the effort to make it happen.

See you all next week and please, continue to do small things with great love.
