Friday 12th December

Fundraising event until 10:30pm with music, drinks, food, raffle tickets with the presence of the Mayor of Ealing Anthony Kelly and his wife Maria Kelly. Food went out swiftly to all the tables and the guests enjoy the following food.

Starters : Pear, Rocket and Pomegranate Salad or Hearty Pumpkin & Butter Bean Soup with Croutons

Mains : Succulent Roast Chicken Quarter or Baked Salmon Fillet or Roasted Stuffed Peppers with Savoury Seed Crumb All mains served with new potatoes, garlic french beans and a rich vegan gravy

Desserts : Creme caramel or Coconut Yogurt & Golden Granola

The food went down like a treat and the staff also enjoyed the food we cooked.

After the party was over it was time to clean and pack.

Full steam

Friday 12th December

Written by StephDucat

This was not the usual Ealing Soup Kitchen shifts. Once the Friday Hub was over, I was part of a massive team to prep for the Fundraising event in the evening where the Mayor and his wife would be attending. I was in the kitchen with other chefs to get the starters, mains and desserts ready for the evening. Great food prepared with choice of 2 starters, 3 mains and 2 desserts. The clock was ticking for all of us, but all was under control and we were ready for the dinner party.A lot of chopping, cooking, cleaning pots and mise en place

Not your usual Friday Hub, but still alot to do. Diana came for her 1st session with Goodgym: welcome. task was to clean all the dishes of the lunch service but then start to prep for the special event at the Hub later in the evening. Diana helped with some setup and assist in the kitchen with some chopping up. Steph Ducat was cleaning pots and pans then started to clear in order to prepare for the fundraising event.

Friday 12th December

Written by StephDucat

Not your typical Friday Hub lunch session as fundraising event later in the day with the mayor, which meant reduce service at the HUB and closing earlier in order to clean, setup and re cook for the evening event. I stayed to serve the soup pepared earlier in the day. Menu was Cauliflower and Cheese soup, sandwiches, bananas and croissants. The croissants were a hit as not normally served are the Hub. Service finished at 2pm instead of the 3:30pm

Souper lunch today!

Friday 21st November

Written by Jacquie de Bidaph

I thought this morning’s tea session was busy and it carried on over lunchtime! The clients enjoyed pumpkin and lentil soup with bread, chicken casserole with pasta and vegetables or vegetarian option. Followed by apple strudel and custard. I was helping to serve and it was pretty rushed for the first hour. The clients loved the meal and there were lots of compliments to the chef. I really enjoy being in the dining area, chatting to the regular clients and meeting the new ones.
