Winter Solstice Freedom run on the parkrun route at Braywick

Fancy dress and Christmas lights make this a memorable run

Location
The field to the North East of Braywick Leisure Centre
Braywick Park
Maidenhead
SL6 1BN
Date and time
18:50 - 19:50
Tuesday, 21st of December 2021

The winter solstice is the longest night of the year, after this the days start to lengthen again, and local parkrunners traditionally celebrate this with a run round the Maidenhead parkrun route. Perfect if you're doing the December Daily Dash (DDD) and are looking for a fun and festive run in good company. It will be VERY dark, so the pace will be gentle, and head or chest torches are mandatory. This isn't an actual parkrun, so there will be no marshals (well, maybe one), no timekeepers, no finish tokens, just Santas, elves, angels and reindeer having a run together. We'll make sure we go at a pace to suit the group, we'll have a chat while we run, and we'll all feel much better for it! See https://www.facebook.com/maidenheadparkrun for more details. Meet at the usual parkrun starting place in Braywick Park, behind Forest Bridge School, at 6.50 pm ready for the official start at 7pm.
