Last nights training run was a pretty epic and hardcore 10k. Taking in moor, wood, river and cliff!

Starting from the National Trust car park we headed to the wooden parish boundary pole, which has been in situ since 1550. Heading up hill and through the flowering purple heather we reached the cliff edge of White Edge, were we was greeted with our first view of the day.

After a quick water stop, we hopped down the rocky trails to the amazing and internationally protected oak woodland of Yarncliff. We found a pair of old 2CV's, one of which looked like a Noddy car. Following the contours of the land as best we could we headed north passed the might oaks and old abandand hand calved millstones (first found in these valley in the 1500's ) and toward the wooded bridge of Padly.

Spirits were high, and motivated by the setting sun we climbed to Mothers Cap stone and Millstone Edge to watch the setting sun... and what a view - our hard work and pain was well and truly rewarded.

Once we had taken in the amazing views across the Hope Valley, we ran back to Longshaw for a cool down and a stretch!

BIG shout out to Rebecca for completing her first 10k
