🌿 Weeding in the NOMA garden for Plant MCR (+ optional group run!)

As part of our Future Leader Northern cohort training day we'll be supporting gardener May to weed one of the beds (see photo) as part of a larger planting project Plant MCR are doing in the autumn.

🏃🚶 How will we get there?
Denzel will be leading a short group run to and from the task where everyone runs together and no one gets left behind. Jack will be leading the walk.

May will be on site to provide all the equipment and help direct the 30-minute session.

🌿 What even is a weed?!
A weed is simply any plant growing where it is not wanted.

In the garden, these are typically resilient, fast-spreading plants that compete with your flowers or vegetables for space, water, sunlight, and nutrients.

Plant Co-operative CIC is a multi award-winning not-for-profit urban gardening collective formed in the spring of 2021 who specialise in transforming and managing public spaces, providing the opportunity to bring the community together through gardening.

They showcase the benefits that can be shared by all by taking a different approach – increasing biodiversity, improving social connection and mental health, and ultimately creating a city of gardeners.
