GOODGYM WORCESTER IS HERE

This will be the first event for the brand new GoodGym Worcester so come along to discover what GoodGym is all about as we head out to complete our very first task!

A simple task with huge benefits to you and the park. There are several new trees that need lots of water to help them grow. The problem is that the tap is at the top of the hill and the trees are near the bottom! Consider this a hill rep session that creates a legacy. Your efforts lugging buckets up and down the slope will give you a great workout that will be remembered for decades as the trees grow.

We'll have a 2km run along the river each way to get to and from the park. Everyone is welcome (over 18s) and we always run at a conversational pace. No one gets left behind.

Join us at the cafe in the Hive afterwards to chat about how we can all help build Good Gym Worcester into something wonderful that can benefit the city.

Meet at the entrance to the Hive ready to go at 6:30pm. Please make sure you are registered on the GoodGym system first.

  • Cycle parking is available right next to the Hive.
  • Toilets are available in the Hive
  • There's a cafe in the Hive for post run refuel and refreshments.
  • Unfortunately bags cannot be left at The Hive.

Hi Marcus 😊 I’ve literally just signed up to Goodgym and looking forward to my first event. I’ve seen the links to other events also but wonder if you have any pointers to a new/beginner runner who’s just started the couch to 5k (progressing to 10k eventually) for other events the group holds or a running buddy maybe? I haven’t joined a running club because I can’t guarantee commitment on a regular weekly basis at the moment. The fact that the run for the event is only 2k(ish) each way and at a conversational pace was the key to my joining 😊 , the good deed bit was my inspiration 😉 Thank you for posting and hosting this 😎

Hi Karl,

Thanks for signing up and well done for starting the couch to 5k, that's one of the best ways to get started with running.
You're in the right place with Good Gym as we want everyone to get involved, regardless of speed or experience. There will be a tail runner that will make sure that nobody gets left behind and I'm sure we can find someone else that is running at your speed to keep you company.

It's a brand new project for Worcester so we can shape it to suit everyone.

I'll look forward to meeting you on the 19th May. Keep an eye on the website as I'll be adding more sessions very soon.

Best wishes

Marcus

New to GoodGym?

This is a GoodGym group run, where we run to help a local community organisation and then run back.

New GoodGymers are welcome to GoodGym group runs - no one gets left behind. You're unlikely to be alone, hundreds of new people sign up every week.

Sign up by 6:30pm on Monday 18th May so we can let Marcus know who to expect.

Options are available to run between 5km and 5km in total

Remember that we run to and from the task, so you'll only be running for half this distance in one go.

This is a standard GoodGym group run. If you can't run for more than 15mins without stopping or you're worried about any aspect of the session, contact us or see if there's a starter session coming up in your area.
