Date and time
10:30 - 16:00Following the success of our recent "Walk the London Marathon" session, this time we will be tying up our walking shoes again, and taking a trip along the River Lea.
16 miles for the full distance
Based on half the course devised by ultrarunning team Daz n Bone (David Bone & Darren Strachan) for the upcoming Camino Ultra Lea Valley 50km (http://www.caminoultra.com/race-detail-lea-valley.html), we will start our walk at Welwyn Garden City train station (meet at the Starbucks), following the Cole Green Way and then linking onto the River Lea to finishing in beautiful Broxbourne.
Start and finish locations are all easily accessible from Liverpool Street Station, and we pass many other stations.
GPX information for the whole course can be found here: http://www.caminoultra.com/LeaValley50k.gpx
Maintaining an easy walking pace (3 miles an hour), we should complete the route in 5 and a half hours. In time to enjoy enjoy some victory coffee and food at the Old Mill Treat cafe, Broxbourne.
NOTE
Due to Covid restrictions, we will be maintaining the groups of 6 rule. This group will only accept 5 walkers + Trainer Simon.
However, other interested walkers are welcome to set up their our groups to participate in this hike together. Trainer Simon would be happy to organise a sign-up for more walkers.
A Whatsapp group will be established for this event to allow for easy communication on the day.
