As the dark clouds gathered menacingly overhead the sky was reminiscent of the bleakest Transylvanian morning with Anfield stadium looming large in the background casting a shadow as awesome as Count Drakula's lair, as if the heavens themselves knew there was something extra spooky happening down at the famous Stanley Park. Our three intrepid Goodgym runners like hero's of old: Van Helsing, Thor and Buffy set out to marshall 41 young ghosts, ghouls, demons, witches and a Harry Potter. Sam Knot to be defeated, Tony T-Rex and Timmy Barbed Dwyer though massively outnumbered battled hangovers and endevered to keep the young monsters out of the lake. Kicking off at 9am ranging in age from 10 to pram size the devil's children ran with varying degrees of enthusiasm ranging from as determined as Satan himself to point blank refusing to move unless dragged. After a gruelling 2K our rampaging runners were rewarded under the gazebo with lots of sweets and pats on the back for a well deserved effort. Special mention must go to Sam for his magnificent locks (will have to exchange shampoo and conditioner details) some achievement first thing of a Sunday.
