Returning the Old Pond Garden to its former glory!

Improve the gardens for local people to enjoy

This is a regular task for each Tuesday and Thursday. The Charlton and Blackheath Horticultural Society are a group of volunteers who are restoring these gardens back to their former glory and always looking for an extra pair of hands.

They run the sessions as a drop in, but the first time you come along you will need to sign the RGHT Health & Safety form and give basic details for track & trace. Sessions are Tuesdays 2-4 and Thursdays 10-12. They are trying to get a Sunday session going soon but can’t until the House is staffed at weekends.

Tasks will include watering, digging over and weeding. They ask if possible for people to bring their own gloves plus secateurs or any small tools you are particularly fond of, but they have a supply of large spades, forks and trowels/little forks and some kneelers to borrow.

If you struggle to find the garden, you can call Kathy on 07785 358 538. It's in the big iron gates to round the back of Charlton House.

I will not be there for this task and please note we may not have any other GoodGym sign ups as it's a mid week task, but you will be welcomed by the Horticultural Society volunteers!
