After such an amazing few weeks at the World Athletics & ParaAthletics Champs, it was time for the GGTH group to show their athletics mettle in the beautiful late summer surroundings of Victoria Park. But first, we had a task to tackle just around the corner in the Hollybush Estate. With some flowerbeds in need of some TLC, our job was to paint some scaffolding boards which would help allow the space to thrive again. Our team of 18, including three very welcome newcomers Keri, Tanja & Neil, set about moving the planks & expertly coating them with wood paint. In half an hour over 20 planks were shifted and painted, ready for drying and moving to the beds. A smoothly executed job well done! We then headed along the canal for our GGTH Championship. 3 teams of 6 vyed for the 6 x 100m relay title - Team 2 the victors! - then it was a race against the clock with everyone tackling the 1 mile or 1km loops around the park. Some impressive times were recorded (see attached photos) and will serve as great motivation for next month's return! Thanks everyone for coming along, doing good & getting fit. Also good luck to Hermione, Jess and all those taking part in Race the Train this weekend! Look forward to seeing you all next week!
