A Change to our Weekly Running Fitness Challenges

In absence of our usual group runs, Goodgym Islington will be releasing a weekly running fitness session for you to try in your local area.

Following the slight relaxing of Covid restrictions, there will now be 2 ways to get involved with our sessions. You can sign up here, and follow the workout in your own time throughout the week, and upload your attempt to Strava with the hashtag #ggislingtonintervals.

Or you can join us for a group session at the Emirates stadium at 7pm, every Monday. At this point, only 6 runners can join the session, but we hope to increase numbers soon! Sign up here for more information:


Kenyan Hills

Wonderful training session, fantastic for training different muscle groups when conditioning for ups and downs!

Begin your session with an easy jog warm up, and try to implement a few full body dynamic drills to engage your arms, shoulders, legs and glutes!

For example:

Arm Windmills (forwards and back) Springs High knees Butt kicks Hamstring sweeps

Find a hill! This could be short and steep, or a gradual climb. The type of elevation will dictate the type of workout this will be (slower paced climbs or quicker extended efforts).

The session consists of:

10-15 minutes (up and down the slope, or looping around a series of hills) 3 minutes rest 10-15 minutes effort 2 minutes easy jog to cool down

Complete these by TUESDAY 23rd JUNE by midday, and upload to Strava with the hashtag #ggislingtonintervals

What to look out for

Age Restriction

GoodGym welcomes anyone aged 18 or over. If you are under 18 then you will be unable to participate in any GoodGym activity

Make sure you've read our general guidelines for safety when running and at a task.

This event is organised by your Taskforce, a group of experienced GoodGym members in your area, they are not responsible for your safety. You should feel confident to participate in the event as it is described and you do so at your own risk.
