On the GG Sheffield Zoom on Monday 22nd March, Mike will give some tips on how to have a go at orienteering using the MapRunF app (Android/Apple). It is totally free to use and suitable for complete beginners. And it's great fun! We'll cover:

  • Orienteering tips for beginners
  • How to use the app
  • How to interpret the map and plan your route

Afterwards, anyone who fancies giving it a go can download the map for the Millhouses Park & Hutcliffe Wood Yellow 1.9km course and have a go anytime, on their own (or with someone else, subject to Covid rules). Here is a link to the South Yorkshire Orienteers Virtual Events page.

If you missed the Zoom, contact Mike for a PDF copy of the talk.

Sign up here if you're up for giving this a go, and let's support each other in trying to get out and about safely in our local environment (and maybe even learning a new skill along the way).

Note: you can do this anytime, not just on the date listed here!
