May Tending Day

Last month, the team at Leasowe finished planting the trees in the Children's Forest field at Leasowe Farm. There are now over 2700 trees planted in this field - thank you all for your hard work over the past 2 seasons.

As the weather warms up - the sunshine and showers will also mean the grasses and wildflowers starts to grow in the field. This is great for insects and other wildlife, the little trees tend to get a bit overwhelmed whilst they are young. We will be weeding, watering and re-mulching with woodchip in places where the grass is growing through....

Feel free to bring gloves, a wheelbarrow and watering can if you have any (there will be some available on the day but more appreciated when we have many hands).
