Coco Collective ITAL Community Garden
CocoCollective is an Afro-diaspora led not for profit community hub, using our heritage to illustrate a new sustainable and regenerative future. This comes in the form of our new Ital Community Garden in Lewisham since June 2021, with a focus on growing culturally diverse foods & herbs and creating a safe space for BPOC in particular to connect, learn, heal & grow. We have 2 allotment sites: Bellingham & Catford.

Coco Collective have 2 allotments/community gardens in the borough, their Catford site is in it's early stages and they need our help clearing the site so they can begin to grow vegetables and herbs. Their aim is to develop an afro-diaspora led community garden, open to all, to edify the local community on growing culturally diverse food, build resilience in food security and inspire young adults in the horticulture industry as a career option.

The volunteer sessions run from 10am - 4pm, feel free to join in for an hour or the whole session.

You'll meet the volunteers at the site (The white gate next to 104 Engleheart Rd, Catford, SE6 2HW) and they'll be able to advise what tasks need doing - if there's a task you don't fancy doing, shout up.

Don't forget to bring gardening gloves.

How are you getting there?
