It was very hot today in Bournemouth....and people were afraid of heights....that's what I'm putting the numbers down to...but we had a great time!

After a chat at Flirt Cafe about our pet peeves about beachgoers we got on with things!

We welcomed Sue to her first group run. She had been keeping an eye on our distances and was looking to come along to a shorter one to try it out....and she did great! She'll fit right in!

Hannah and Marianne are now close to hitting the 10 good deed gang....one more to go! And Neil is only one away from the magic

** 100 good deeds wings!**

We took a little detour through the gardens...and did the Russel Coates hill to start off with...perfect weather for it...then we turned and went a different route to usual and went down a slight hill to come up onto Gervis Road.....Sue got an insight into what our shorter routes mean. But, we cannot grow without some discomfort so she embraced it and soon found her pace and breath again. Hannah on the other hand was powering through the hills and looking comfortable. Great work Hannah, you've gotten so much stronger!!!!

Mark was waiting for us on top of the Hope Housing roof and soon got us up there and working on clearing all the rubble that had been left from taking down part of the roof to build an extension. Loads of bricks, led, planks, plasterboard and all sorts to clear. Those with a healthy respect for heights worked on clearing the rubble into buckets and then handing them over to those on the scaffolding to then take along the rooftop and to then empty down a chute into a skip.

Soon Phil had to move down to ground level to orchestrate how things went into the skip. Numerous times he had to spread out the pile and clear up blockages in the chute. Risking his life for the cause!

After realising how much fun it was to chuck stuff down the chute the others soon came to have a go! And they were not disappointed! Really good fun and a very physical and satisfying task!

The gang managed to almost clear the whole roof, amazing going for 3 people, they must have cleared 2-3 tonnes of rubble in 30 minutes or so! They're going to be sore tomorrow!! The god kind of sore!

With our spirits lifted from doing good, we headed back to Flirt the most direct route possible and luckily it was all down hill!

Well done everyone! Great effort and we were pleasantly surprised by the task Mark had for us! See you all next week!
