Hadley Road Community AllotmentGiven the recent heat there is no group run planned before this session but we may arrange to meet up to walk/jog over to the site (approx meeting time around 6.30pm) depending on interest - so please do get in touch or keep an eye out on the GoodGym Merton Whatsapp group a few days before.
The community allotment at Hadleigh Road in Pollards Hill has recently been opened. With plots used by schools, colleges and other community groups there are a number of people involved with growing plants and learning new skills alongside the eco-hub team.
At this time of year there is watering and weeding to be done at the community plots, and if we have extra hands there may be the opportunity to help out with other jobs. Do be sure to prepare for the weather (suncream, sunhat, and bug spray given it's an evening task) and carry water although there is access to a tap and toilet facilities on site.
Bring gardening gloves if you have these and if you are planning to cycle it's possible to take your bicycle into the allotment area and secure it in the eco-hub. On arrival we will be meeting with Stephen from the Salvation Army who is responsible for over-seeing the site and will be ready with tools and a brief of what needs doing.
How are you getting there?
