Helloooo Hounslow!

What a night we had. We had the lovely Kat and Saskia join us for the first time - give them a huge cheer - we had a semi-successful speaker experience, and we had the inaugural Hounslow Bin-GoGoGo.

First we celebrated our excellent heroes - claps all round for Andy, who is tantalisingly close to that magic 50 (or is he Jo), and is also topping the cheers and distance - although super half-marathon runner Remy is right on his heels! Well done to Natasha who is supporting our lovely GoodGym community by giving us lots of lovely cheers. Check our your position here.

There's talk of a Gunnersbury parkrun this Saturday -so if you're keen to get that PB or try these free, fast 5ks on Saturday morning for the first time, then join our Hounslow GG Whatsapp group (just email me) for all the up to date info on that and more (including socials!).

Tonight we were back to Waterman's Art Centre - an independent charity that helps local communities access art in all its forms. We did a nice dynamic warm up, including high knees, lunges and ski jumps, and found out what made people giggle - puppies, John Oliver, Chris the Simpsons' artist and seagulls stealing food from people. Pretty funny stuff!

On the 1.5 mile run down to the arts centre we listened to the Baby Driver soundtrack as a homage to our last cinema social - next week we're going to sample the delicious-smelling curry kitchen at the Waterman's Arts Centre, check out the details here.

Once we arrived, we laid our sweaty little mits on the tool box and got cracking on the outside areas, filling one huge black bin bag with weeds from the pathways while discussing Ella's question of the week - what are your top 3 herbs and spices? It got heated, people. ("If you don't like cumin, then, just good luck enjoying anything"), and we still don't know whether garlic counts.

As our fitness session this week we had our very first trial of Hounslow Bingo - there was an exercise to do, such as 45 seconds plank, 10 press ups, 20 ab crunches etc for every item checked off the list. One red bus, one park bench, one mention of parkrun, one houseboat and one dog on a leash later - we can hereby confirm that our champion was....ANDY! Well done, you win the satisfaction of being the inaugural champion, and that is priceless.

Well done team, another night of helping out organisations that the local community relies on, plus getting a good old fitness session in as well. More of the same next week?

ps thank you to Ella and Remy for the pun-spiration!
