The Friends of Alexandra Park
Alexandra Park was originally designed by Alexander McKenzie, in 1863, as a park and pleasure ground.  The 196 acres of park now consists of a delightful mixture of informal woodland, open grassland, formal gardens and attractions such as the boating lake, cafes and the pitch-and-putt course. The Friends of Alexandra Park is a voluntary group, formed in 2006, with the aims of: promoting the use of Alexandra Park : encouraging conservation of wildlife : protecting the Park from unwanted development.

Good Gym and Litter Picking in Alexandra Park. ( no GG leader) The Friends of Alexandra Park have a Litter Pick coming up on Saturday March 7. We will meet at 10.30am at the ‘Gas Hut’, which is the small brick building near the Bedford Road entrance to Alexandra Park. That’s the east end, near Alexandra Palace station. The Park is incredibly wet, and we focus on getting the litter out of the hard-to-reach areas e.g. old brambles, so flat soled trainers and tights are not the best thing to wear. Bring boots and litter pickers and gloves will be available. We will carry on until noon, but are happy if people just want to do a shorter spell.

How are you getting there?

Hi Paul, we are very sorry for not turning up today - It seems were mislead by the start location. We are at Phoenix Cinema as shown on the map - however, we have now realised we were meant to meet at the Gas Hut in Alexandra Park, I believe this has been a miscommunication. We apologise and hopefully we will be able to meet you whenever we come to Barnet again.
