GoodGym Barnsley have been asked to help Slow Ways review, verify and survey routes for active travel in the form of walking or running. These are tasks to be carried out at your leisure, on your own or with friends and family.

Slow Ways is an initiative to create a national network of walking routes connecting all of Great Britain’s towns and cities as well as thousands of villages.

Using existing paths, ways, trails and roads, people can use Slow Ways routes to walk or wheel between neighbouring settlements, and combine them to create longer distance trips. It’s designed to make it easier for people to imagine, plan and go on walking journeys.

Have a look at some of the routes on the Barnsley section of the website (https://beta.slowways.org/Settlement/Barnsley) and choose which tasks you would like to help out with.

When you have completed a task (or tasks), let me know how you got on- send me some pictures and describe what you did for the Slow Ways website. You can email me at jamessmith@goodgym.org or message me on WhatsApp
