I'm torn between Sheffield and Barnsley :)
Parkwood Forest Garden is a beautiful calm space and a productive permaculture project. It is a young forest garden developed by Sheffield City Council in association with volunteers. The Forest Garden is a productive managed woodland, which produces food for both people and wildlife. We have been volunteering regularly at this great location since Feb 2019, our maintenance activities generally include: weeding, mulching and pruning.
Meet at Parkwood Springs Forest Garden car park (09.50am) (opposite flats 104-138), Shirecliffe Road, S5 8XB and walk over to the garden for 10.00am. Please note: There is no GG taskforce member leading this event - Volunteer Lovely Louise Friends of Parkwood Springs will be meeting GG volunteers in the carpark.
Friends of Parkwood Springs are following council COVID guidance. All tools and appropriate training are provided, tool cleaning materials provided, activities will be planned to avoid sharing tools and ensure social distancing.
Please bring you own gloves, wear sturdy shoes and warm clothes if the weather is a bit grey, and come and join in.
Help to load display screens from the Exhibition venue, Ponds Forge back up to Botanical Gardens
We will load up a van with the screens at Ponds Forge and then run to Botanical Gardens to help them unload!
Without our help the exhibition won't be able to take place and it's the largest exhibition for young artists in the UK!
James has gone ULTRA! They have decided that a marathon is not their limit, and have taken their first steps into ultra distance running.
James has run their first marathon. This means dedicated training, consistent effort and a lot of support. There's always some pain, always some stress, and always some questioning of what life is all about when your take on something as hard as a Marathon. Your support has has helped make this possible, now the hard work is over, give James a pat on the back.
