Friends of Max Roach Park
Provide space to work on a much loved Park which has been neglected for decades by the local authority . Many families have no access to a local park. There is a lot of antisocial behaviour which the Friends group are wishing to be understanding of, by including those with alcohol dependencies, isolation and mental health when safe for the group to do so through training provided to us, ensure they can also feel part of the improvements. We want to be a fully inclusive group. The park has so much potential to be a beautiful front garden. It is the largest park , in Brixton North. The Friends group has never been set up before. The park will provide nature and wellbeing to a very large area of Brixton. The Friends group has the support of the Police, Councillors , Lambeth Parks, and Max Roach Community Centre. The new executive committee have recently been nominated, The group have so many professionally skilled residents of Lambeth ready to get going on working as a great team. There are also a group of volunteers from Lambeth and surrounding boroughs. As we are a newly formed group, it will take time to build momentum on the volunteering on physical garden projects. Having your support would be welcomed.

Michelle from the very dynamic Friends of Max Roach Park has been in touch and they could do with some extra hands to help out with their continuing greening projects.

Head on over to the park and Michelle and the team will take care of you - for the precise location message on 07583 477 862 and mention you are coming from GoodGym.

A great weekend task and hopefully some good weather so don't sleep on this one.

Sign up - get outside - do some good!
