James and Linda cycled to Frenford Food Bank to find one of the task owners frantically setting up before dashing off to something urgent leaving us and a couple of Frenford’s volunteers to get on with the job.

There was no spare room in the gym or dance studio so we were crammed into the reception area which made organising packages a bit of a challenge but with team cooperation and common sense we coped admirably.

Although depleted in numbers we were all seasoned pickers and packers and had most of the 50+ packages done before the other task owner arrived to organise deliveries. Sadly they were also short of drivers so she left to do deliveries herself leaving another volunteer in charge of allocating loads and Linda to finish making calls for the next days session. Meanwhile James and the others shelf stacked and prepared for the next days session.

When Gen returned from her couple of deliveries there was a good response from a shout out for volunteer drivers among staff and parents attending the sports centre and by the time Good Gym left the building the rest of the deliveries were being taken care of.
