Date and time
10:00 - 11:30This is our first session joining the Friends of Oxleas Woods for a conservation session in the surrounding woodlands. These volunteer sessions are open to local people who want to help care for the woods and are usually suitable for beginners and no special experience is needed.
The tasks will involve helping with general conservation work such as clearing vegetation, litter-picking, removing invasive species and cutting back scrub to open up spaces for native plants and animals to thrive.
Please bring some gloves if you have any, but they should have spares if not and tools will be provided.
The friends of group will be staying for three hours but come for as long as you want. We've listed this as 1.5 hours but it's fine if you can't stay for the full time!
The meeting point is the big fallen tree by the Oxleas Wood Cafe.
