The Friends of Windmill Gardens (FoWG) were formed in 2003 with three aims: * to get the Grade II listed Brixton Windmill restored and opened for public visits – in 2002 it had been put on English Heritage's buildings at risk register; * to make Windmill Gardens park a more welcoming space for local people; * to have a new education centre at the windmill. Windmill Gardens gained a Green Flag Community Award in 2015 and we have just been judged again so our fingers are crossed that we will retain the award for the next two years.

Windmill Gardens is a heavily used park and keeping it looking good is an important part of the work of the Friends of Windmill Gardens charity. We have three public events for local people during October so we want the park to be looking good!

Prepare Windmill Gardens for the winter. cut back the wildflower area and re-seed for next year, litter pick, prune bushes, dig over vegetable garden.

Advice will be given on tool handling as well as the different gardening tasks.

Tools, gloves and gardening expertise will be provided by volunteer members of FoWG's park group. All tasks will be clearly explained. Green waste will either be composted or placed at the park entrance for Lambeth Landscapes to collect.

Come for as long or as little as you like and Jean and her team will take care of you!!
